Bodhananda yoga follows the tradition, transferred from Guru to shishya (master to desciple) the beginning of which is hidden well deep in time. With greatest sense of humility, thankfulness, responsibility and with no sense of "I" it strives to take the tradition forward with all its purity.

The name Bodhananda yoga is derived from Swami Bodhananda saraswathi, a great sanyasin and one of the greatest practitioners of yoga. He was initiated to sanyasa by swami Jnanananda saraswathy. At present the tradition is carried forward by master Chandran.
